241 Dorothy Burris, 88, of Washington Christian Village, Washington, Ill., and formerly of Fairmount, Ill., died at 3:40 p.m. Friday (April 23, 2004) at Washington Christian Village.

She was born March 26, 1916, in Jacksonville, Ill., to Frank and Ida Butcher Angela. She married Jean Hoover in 1934 in Jacksonville, Ill. She later married Cletus L. Burris in 1957 in Jacksonville, Ill. He died on Oct. 17, 1993, in Champaign, Ill.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law and caregiver, Donna Hoover of Washington, Ill.; a granddaughter, Cindy (Steve) Doty of Washington, Ill.; two grandsons, Jeffrey (Jill) Hoover of Peoria, Ill., and Stuart (Cindy) Hoover of Washington, Ill.; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Hoover, in 1987, two brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 26, at Davis Cemetery in Homer, Ill. Arrangements are by Deiters Funeral Home in Washington, Ill.; Memorials may be made to the Washington Christian Village, 1110 Newcastle Rd., Washington, IL 61571.
