Charles Clifford Peevler, 68, of 737 N. Logan Ave., a resident of Danville for 60 years, died about 1:20 p.m. Saturday (June 25, 1960) in Lakeview Hospital.
A former foreman and furnace superintendent at the Hegeler Zinc Co. works, he was born Jan. 17, 1892, in Indiana, the son Joseph and Minnie I. Davis Peevler.
He was recently employed as apartment overseer and was a member of Central Park Methodist Church. When not work he was either fishing or tinkering with radios in idle time.
Survivors are his wife, Charity; a daughter, Barbara Ann Darnell of Danville: a sister, Mrs. Georgia Green of .Danville and six sons; Mark E. of Bismarck; Robert L Albuquerque, NM: Ivan J. of Boulder Co; Carroll A. of Amarillo, Tex; and Frank C. and Jack E. of Danville. Also, 19 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
His parents, a sister and a daughter preceded him in death.
The body is in the Barrick and Sons Funeral Home where friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Philip Woodworth officiating. Burial will be in the Gordon Cemetery.
