Charles Elwood Peavler, age 89, of 321 Cedar St. died at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday morning Oct. 28 at the Haggin Memorial hospital after long illness. He was a retired blacksmith.
Born Sept. 13, 1880 in Mercer Co. KY, he was the son of E. M. and Alice Wright. Mr. Peavler was a member of Harrodsburg Christian church.
He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Lizzie Mae Yeast Peavler; two daughters, Mrs. Green Holiday and Mrs. Belve Collier: four sons: Cecil, Lee Andrew, Maurice, and Charles E. Peavler, Jr., a sister: Mrs. Ben Gabbert, Cornishville, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock this (Thursday) afternoon, Oct. 30, at Alexander and Royalty funeral home by Marcus Prather. Burial will be in Springhill cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The body is at the funeral home.
